The team have had some excellent game viewing today, ticking off elephant, kudu, eland, porcupine, scrub hare, hyena, black backed jackel, pole cat, burchall zebra and spotted eagle owl at Addo Elephant park! Not bad!
Tonight they sat around the braai with hot chocolate and marshmallows following their exceptional night drive.

They are looking forward to the sunrise and their final morning at the Eastern Cape!

Township Tour

Yesterday the group departed from the beautiful beaches of Cintsa and continued on to Port Elizabeth, with a quick stop for shopping en route. Here they were taking on a tour of the townships by Calabash Tours, one of South Africa's first fair trade tour companies. They learnt the history of Port Elizabeth, as well as the history of the townships and how things are changing and developing. They also had a chance to visit a township school and to buy crafts from ladies in one the women's craft cooperatives.

In the evening they had baked potatoes cooked around the barbecue and this morning, awoke to a fantastic sea view! They are now off for a day trip at Addo Elephant park...

Today the team had a well deserved rest, with a late cooked breakfast followed by some volleyball. Then they went to meet the infamous Mama Tofo in the afternoon for a tour of the Xhosa village. Mama Tofo, at 91 years old, is the oldest Tour Guide in South Africa (we think!) - sadly however, she had recently broken her leg... but the team still got to meet her and absorb some of her knowledge...
The day was finished off with a huge braai and a quick game of Mafia before bed.

Some updates from the team themselves!...

'Molweni! We woke up too early today, it was torture (thanks Andy and Jess!). Then we went on a long savage bus ride through the wilderness.  After waiting for what seemed like days for a tyre change, we arrived at Buccaneers, dumped our stuff and were taken on a gruelling beach training session running up sand dune mountains.  After passing out from exhaustion, we found a grub the size of a dog. We then travelled back to the lodge to eat gruel and put up tents in the dark.  JOKING WE'RE HAVING A GREAT TIME!'  -Tom

'Enjoying our candle lit dinner after a long drive and trek along the beach. Never appreciated such good food and hot water so much!' - Paige, Becki and Laura

'Mum! Can we go to Nandos on Sunday? Thanks, love Izzy'

After a walk to watch the sunset from 'The Giant Sand Dune' the team were treated to a curry and chocolate mousse for dinner - which left everyone very happy!
As I received the update they were just off to play a giant game of Mafia - which seems to be the favourite... but who dunnit??
